Black Hawk is Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) and Introducing Broker (IB) registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and is a member of the National Futures Association (NFA).

Black Hawk began in 2009 and our founder and CEO, Scott Stewart has decades of experience in the industry.

Scott Stewart is the co-founder and CEO of Black Hawk Resources and has been involved with international metals trading and the risk industry for over 15 years. His competency focus is on the physical and financial side of commodity markets where he applies significant operational, trading and price risk management experience in various commodity markets such as aluminum, copper, zinc, steel, natural gas, electricity, diesel fuel, and foreign currency.

Prior to being a founding member of Black Hawk Resources Limited in 2010, Scott served as VP, Global Risk Management at Aleris International, Inc., Cleveland, Ohio and a similar role at Novelis, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia, the world’s two largest aluminum scrap recyclers. Scott was in charge of a global team of pricing risk personnel, responsible for those companies’ global commodity risks. In his roles, Scott worked with various raw materials and the different pricing risks associated with them across various end-use segments including Automotive, Packaging and Containers, Building and Construction, Aluminum Recycling, Transportation, and Aircraft. Prior to his experience in corporate risk management he was involved in metal and energy trading at Glencore International, the world’s largest base metals and energy trader where he was based in Stamford, Connecticut and internationally in Zug, Switzerland. His experiences have provided Scott with a grasp of raw material opportunities and risk profiles which he currently leverages to help Black Hawk’s customers better understand the markets. Mr. Stewart takes a mindful and thoughtful approach towards competitive advantage with the goals set to beat the socks off of his client’s competitors using the human power of focus and choice decision making.

Scott holds a M.S. and B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a registered Associated Person and Principal with the National Futures Association (NFA) meeting the requirements of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Most importantly, Scott resides in Shaker Heights, Ohio with his wife and two sons.
